Partners

Rod Bowen

Rod undertook his accountancy training with, and subsequently became a partner in Gordon Wood, Scott & Partners, a Bristol based firm of Chartered Accountants, whose clients ranged from the 'local corner shop' to an international house building group with three hundred subsidiaries worldwide and its own treasury department controlling deep discounted bonds and operating hedge funds for currency stability.

After 12 years at GWSP Rod left in 1991 and set up his own Chartered Accountancy firm which specialised in the needs of small and medium sized businesses and which grew significantly in the following 15 years mainly through personal referrals. By the end of 2003 the client portfolio had grown sufficiently to warrant the introduction of another Partner. Fortunately it was at this time that Rod met Jessica through a mutual client and since then Jessica has been instrumental in developing the business further, particularly in the area of computerisation.

Rod is married and has a son called William who was born in 2001. Following William's birth, Rod's wife Penny, swapped her glamorous job as a long haul airline pilot for the very slightly less interesting role as Rod's PA. Rod's interests outside of work are numerous and include writing, history, guitar playing, all kinds of sport but particularly rugby and of course spending time with his family.
